Hello! My name is Rachel and I’m trying to get a grip on this blogging thing. I tried blogging back when I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain for a year but was unsuccessful on two parts. One was that I didn’t keep up on it!! The other was that, I’ll be the first to admit it, it was boring. I’m trying to do better here.
Step 1: I graduated from Creighton University May 2014 with majors in biology and Spanish.
Step 2: Immediately after graduation, I was offered a temporary job down in New Mexico working in public outreach and aquatic conservation at a lake.
Yes.
You read that correctly.
I moved from the land of 10,000+ lakes down to the dry dry southwestern US to work AT. A. LAKE.
Hey, it worked out fine. It was a good experience. Even if I couldn’t stand up fully in my living quarters…That’s what German blood will do to you.
Speaking of German blood (nice segue, no??),
Step 3 (current): I’M LIVING IN GERMANY FOR OVER A YEAR TO AU PAIR!!
I’ve always wanted to go back to the motherland (okay, it is a very, very distant motherland for me, but who’s really counting?!) and learn some German and become an older sister of some precious German kiddos.
Essentially, I want to make a home for myself in as many spots around the world as I can. So far I’ve got down Rochester, Omaha, Sevilla, and New Mexico, and 2 different cities in Germany.
I’ll keep this updated as often as I can!
